I’m really excited to announce a Kindle Scout campaign for my new novel, CITIZEN MAGUS.
The campaign works like this: Readers can nominate my book for a publishing deal with Kindle Press. If Kindle Press picks up my book, your nomination will earn you a free copy once they publish it. The more nominations I get, the better my chances for a deal and a free ebook for you.

I just read the excerpt from CITIZEN MAGUS, and was impressed. If I had a nickel for every book I’ve seen that’s supposed to be for Jim Butcher fans, I’d be rich, but this is the first that really feels like the DRESDEN FILES in the texture of the writing. You have a winner! I currently have 3 nominations, but when it comes time for your campaign to end, you will have my vote. If Amazon has any sense, you’ll get the contract. No typos, either! The Amazon folks were fools to turn this one down. It’s the best Kindle Scout selection I’ve seen yet! >I< think it has legs. When it IS published, you might consider making it free the first day, alerting Amazon in time to alert the former voters that it's coming out, thus allowing them to snag a free copy first off, and perhaps review it. It seems to me that the whole POINT of the Kindle Scout system is to find potential favorable reviewers in advance, to give them copies a month in advance, should they happen to pick the book based on their own mysterious criteria.
Please keep me in mind for any future proof-reading/editing/beta-reading needs you might have. It would be a pleasure to work on writing of this caliber [Am.].
Thanks for your kind words, Eleanor! A disappointing outcome to be sure, but such is the writing life. I suspect it has a lot to do with numbers (nominations and page views). I simply didn’t have a big enough social network, so I couldn’t marshal up a large potential buyer pool. That’s what I keep telling myself, anyway. 🙂
